Chapter 3! \o/ Took me a while to get it mostly right, but here it finally is :)

Harry Potter and the Gift of Legilimency

Summary: Harry has a very unusual gift: he is a natural Legilimens. Unsurprisingly, the ability to read and manipulate the thoughts of his relatives -and others- led to him having a very different childhood and very different personality...

Well, I've modified a few things and reposted my story on FFnet, let's hope that they won't take it down again...

In the mean time, chapter 2! \o/

Well, f*** you very much, FFnet.

So, apparently, FFnet has decided that my most recent fanfiction, 'Harry Potter and the Gift of Legilimency', violates the rule of : "Not the property of uploading writer. Please note we do not allow users to post lyrics to songs they did not write."

Well, seeing as I did not write a Song Fic (I abhor song fics!), I'm not sure what is their problem. Especially as the only property I violated is that of J.K. Rowling, just like 600'000 other fanfictions.

Anyway... I'm going to try and get things straight with FFnet, but I know they're kind of stubborn about things like that (read: rarely reply to complaints), so don't hold your breath.

In the mean time, you can find that same fanfiction on AO3 at http://archiveofourown.org/works/1064154

By the way, the second chapter should be up within a couple of days, as I just need to re-read it again.

Hi! This is a plot idea that's been bugging me for a while now. Well, actually it's several plot-bunnies combined in one. I started it while participating to Nanowrimo 2013, when I was stuck with my other novel and the idea has expanded until we got this.

I'll warn you though, it's not beta-read!

Enjoy!

Another take on the first book/year.

No pairings yet, not stupid!Harry, probably gray-ish!Harry, un-beta-ed,

A lot of random plots. I was participating in the 2012 June Camp Nanowrimo, which is basically the same thing as the original November Nanowrimo, meaning 50'000 words a month. Didn't make it to the end and I didn't manage to stick to one story and see it to the end, but I still had a good time. Spent a lot of time procrastinating on Twitter and the french IRC Nanowrimo channel, talking with other participants and friends. It was a fun time :)

One of the lovely people there mentioned a new writing challenge that just took off today. It's over there, at http://52shadesofshortstories.com/ (there's a Twitter and Facebook page too, easier to stay up to date than the wordpress website)
Here's what they say about it:
52 Shades of Short Stories (52SSS) is a friendly challenge to see if it is possible to make a living by writing and publishing a short (1000 à 6000+ words) story every week. Join us!

Starting July 2012, I’m going to try and write one short story per week, for as long as I can make it, and I’m inviting you to do the challenge too!

I don't intend to professionally publish anything, as I write fanfictions, but the idea of writing a short story a week is a nice one. I'm hoping that it'll help me get used to write regularly and finish one damn story sometimes. Because, seriously, I've written 71k this year already but I haven't published a word of it! O.o

• WIP:

Harry Potter - "Natural Legilimens!Harry": 2'482 words
Harry Potter - Mary Sue story: 6'958 words (handwritten while I was at the hospital)

Those stories aren't particularly important. Mostly plot bunnies that I couldn't get out of my mind. May was quiet enough, writing wise, because I had surgery at the beginning of the month and spent the first couple of weeks in a haze, dozing on my chair.

Also, it's the last time I write by hand. It took me at least three days to copy the 20+ A4 manuscript pages in Scrivener. It was horrible. No more handwritten stories! x_x

I discovered the Camp Nanowrimo on the 31st of May, which is lucky for me, since the Camp thing is held during June.

http://campnanowrimo.org/campers/anyssia

It's basically the same idea as Nanowrimo (meaning, to write 50'000 words in one month/30 days). The main difference is that there isn't a forum like for Nanowrimo, with 50 posts a day and 2'000 people talking excitedly about their novel.
You only have to register and ask for a cabin and they'll automatically install you with five strangers (you can ask for them to keep it in the same age people and/or same kind of novel (adventure/historical/...)).
It's really a very basic Nanowrimo.

http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/anyssia

Last year, it happened during July and August (meaning, 2 nano camp), this year it's June and August. As I said, I only found out about it right the day before it was due to start.

Since I'm still on sick leave, I thought it might be a nice way to pass the time. Also, let's not kid ourselves, but I just can't resist a Nanowrimo. :D

Anyway, it's unexpectedly nice because, while I don't exactly like the cabin system (you have to be really lucky to get interesting people. I had to change four times of cabin before I got one mildly nice), I get to talk on IRC to the people I met during the last nano. It's pleasing to speak French for once, even if I tend to mix French and English by mistake (also, same timezone \o/ that is really great).

Also, while my previous novels/fanfics have never been finished, I actually like this one and like the way I'm writing it. Well, the second fic at least. I started this nano with a time travel Harry Potter idea, but I twisted it really badly and abandoned it after 12'000 words because it was so awful.

The one I'm writing now is a bit of a shameful pleasure. It's a... Don't scream please, I know, I know, it's awful, I can't even believe myself :D. But it's a Mary Sue Harry Potter fanfic.

Yes, you heardread right. A Mary Sue fanfiction. Would you believe it that it's the first Mary Sue I ever wrote, even if it's been ten years since I started writing fanfictions?

Here is a rough summary:
Mary Sue Alert! Hagrid was nice and all, but he really could have told Harry how to access the Hogwarts Express, because there certainly wasn’t a 9 3/4 platform at King’s Cross! But thankfully for Harry, a girl realized his dilemma and offered to help him discover the Wizarding World.

I know I'm much too old to write a Mary Sue, but, what the hell, I've always wanted to have someone guide naive!Harry through the Wizarding World. Why not 'me', since it would have been way too hypocritical to suddenly push Moon/Greengrass/Zabini/... or any other kid in his way ;)

I started writing while I was a the hospital, last month, and copied it on computer this week-end. (Incidentally, it's the last time I write a fic on paper then copy it, because 8'000 to copy/20 A4 recto verso handwritten pages are really hell to re-read/type).

Today, I wrote enough that the story is now at 14'000 words and it's coming along nicely. It's nothing extraordinary nor really original, but it's fun to write, so I think I'll finish it and actually post it. Maybe ;)
