[RL] Sometimes, I can't believe myself...
So, this morning I got up, not too early because I always have trouble waking up on Mondays, showered, got dressed, and booted up my computer.
My mom choose that moment to remind me via SMS/text message that it's August 15th and so, it's my step-father's birthday. (she has to message me for every birthday, because I even forget mine, so... ^^;;;)
I then proceeded to lose about an hour checking my mails and f-list, hour that I could have used at work, as I'm a bit behind in my monthly work hours. But, well, somebody did a fic search on
snarryficfind that sounded good and the fic was found, so I started reading it instead of leaving immediately.
It was ten to nine when I finally left my computer behind (I'm allowed to arrive at work anywhere between 7.30 am and 9.30 am, as long as I do my hours) and climbed up in my car. I looked at my neighbors and wondered if they were in vacation, as their shutters were close when normally they're gone by 8.00 am.
Luckily, I managed to find an apartment not too far from my office, so I only had to drive for 10 min and I congratulated myself for leaving so late: when I leave 15 min before the hour, I always get stuck in the rush hour. But 5 min before the hour was perfect this morning, there weren't too many cars on the road.
My first indication that something was a bit wrong, was when I entered the street at the end of which is my office. It's a long street with on one side, a tribunal, two schools, several apartment blocks and the large building in which I work with about 60 other people, and parking spaces all along on the other side.
As you can imagine, by 8.00 o'clock every morning, the parking is almost full. But this morning, there were barely 10 cars parked there! O.O
And that's when I began to think and by the time I had reached my office building, I wanted to bash my head on the dashboard:
THE 15TH OF AUGUST IS A PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN FRANCE!!!!
>_<
I. am. such. an. idiot ^^;;;
