A few weeks ago I discovered
writethisfanfic, a community to help people stay motivated and to keep writing. A bit like a year round Nanowrimo community, except that there aren't any word count set requirement.
Instead, every month the mod ask you
what you are challenging yourself to. Then, there is a daily post asking you how it's going, if you're sticking to your own chall, and various questions to get people to talk/comment to each others ;p Also, there are
writing sessions/sprints organized almost weekly.
I wasn't sure about it (and I caught the chall mid-May), but it's really great! Nobody forces you to write like in Nanowrimo, no pressure, no nagging. But the posts do remind you that, 'yes, stop procrastinating, your fic isn't going to write itself' xD So it's a win-win situation for me. The community stays alive with the posts and comments, and I can't ignore my fanfics.
I wrote 6'000 words this month thanks to that community! (all for the Nanaki/Cloud fic. It was my challenge: to finish the one-shot. I'm not done yet, but I still have a week and the thing is growing longer than I anticipated ;p)
Anyway, that was the presentation part. Now for
June's WIP challenge:
Level of challenge: not sure. either I already finished my current one-shot, then I'll try to get at least two chapters of Guide ready (and that to finally proofread that last chapter! It's about ready to be posted and I still haven't even opened the file T.T) or the one-shot isn't done so I'll finish it (and the last chapter of Guide, damn it, Anyssia!)
Fandom(s) involved: Final Fantasy VII of course ;p
What you're looking for from the challenge: Motivation and something to keep me on track. If I don't check the posts daily, I "forget" about writing or I postpone it and never get anything done.
What you could offer other participants yourself: encouragements, someone to bitch to, about how your story is doing everything it wants to and not what you want it to do ;p I can give advice on plot ideas but not grammar 'coz English isn't my mother tongue ^^
How people should contact you: DW pm is good or you can comment here ^__^
Time zone: France, so UTC/GMT +2 hours.
