I've got similar problem -.-' Yesterday I wrote one page and I can't finish it >.< Zero inspiration, zero! I need some good PWP to write my own or some good music or maybe I'll go to park?
It's always different kind of music. When I write angst I listen to e.g. "Snuff" Slipnkot. Writing PWP I listen to sometimes really stupid songs like "Dirty Talk" Wynter Gordon or "Stripper" - I found it on youtube (Sephiroth/Cloud vid) and I don't know who is singing it, because author didn't write it and he/she didn't reply on any message >.< You know, some "light" songs. "Turn me on" (Wet Fingers), "Vanilla" (Gackt), "Shut up and sleep with me" (Sebastian). Now my favorite type of music, but... Oh, "Oh my God" Kaiser Chiefs always work. This song is made for punk when they want to have sex - I heard that from someone ;p My case is this same: there is no spark :(
OP aksed about many things and I don't have inspiration. Maybe I'll listen to songs from @jukeboxhound ;) But for now I'm going to write parts without sex. Usually I've got inspiration at night and I pray about it :)
^^ good luck! The last plot request I got wasn't that detailed, but it gave me some trouble too, so I'm totally with you on that one. Keep going, you'll make it ^^
Oh, oh, porn music! Think it depends on the tone of the sex: the darker stuff, try the gothic darkwave/industrial shit like Deftones, Puscifer, or even Tool; the sweaty passionate stuff, Santana or (personal favorite) Alannah Myles; for more casual stuff like a quickie in the garage or on the kitchen table, I tend to go with alt rock/grunge/indie like Audioslave or WHY?; for the fluffy stuff, Snow Patrol does the job.
Not that I have a thing for music and changed my pseudonym to reflect that.
I love music too, even if I don't really try to get more (I don't listen to radio, I don't have a TV, so...). Mostly, I got my music through Ciceqi/Sleeps with Coyotes when she was still with LJ. After she moved/separated her fic journal from personal journal, I lost my reccer T_T
I don't listen to music while writing though, except for... ambiance music (is that the name in English?). Mostly slow, quiet music without lyrics. Or also, nature sounds which I love (chimes! water! rain! *.* yeah, I'm strange ;p ). Otherwise I get distracted, trying to recognize the words/understand the theme/meaning ^^;;
Aye, 'ambiance' is right. Hmm, there's Voice of the Seven Woods (guitar, with some Middle Eastern influence), Azam Ali (Iranian artist, and while does have vocals, it's of the ethereal kind in a variety of live and dead languages), Shiva inExile and Solace (Middle Eastern, usually played for belly dance performances), E.S. Posthumus (rather epic instrumental), Escala (a four-woman band that covers a lot of classical), Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares (traditional Bulgarian, which is rather haunting), Jesse Kalu (Native American flute), Lúnasa (instrumental traditional Irish, and I have an album download link), Alasdair Fraser (Scottish fiddler that incorporates other instrumental styles), and...yeah, that's all I can think of at the moment. Some might be too ~epic~ or whatever and not quite what you're looking for, but hey, never know. Lemme know if you're interested in anything else and I can track shit down for you.
*boggles at all the music* Gaia, I'm going to spend -hours- going through everything you gave me! (I tend to look up the artists/groups as well as getting the music. I lose a lot of time that way ;p) Not right now though, I want to finish that damn Nanaki/Cloud prompt today ^^
Oh, and I meant to say, speaking of radio - I don't own one myself (or a TV), but I use an Internet radio called Last.fm that allows you to make personalized music channels. I pick a band, say, Hooverphonic or Thievery Corporation (both of which do vocals and pure instrumentals, idk), and it'll play me a load of other down tempo artists.
I'm sorry, I love sharing music. It's the best cure for what ails you. I have GBs and GBs I still haven't gotten around to sorting for months and it just keeps growing.
Oh, good to know! *check if I can read it in France* I used to listen to... I don't remember the name ^^;; But one day they blocked us. I think it was only available in the USA from that point T_T
I checked Last.fm and it looks good so far, apart from the fact that it's not free ;p I'll see.
Don't be sorry, you can share as much music with me as you want. I can't guaranty you that I'll like it, but I'll be sure to listen to it! ^^
A few months ago I got tired of always listening the same albums and dumped my whole Music folder into winamp and put it in random mode. That's when I discovered that I had more that 900h of music O.O \O/ x3
Nope, not Pandora. I hadn't been on the site for months and the day I got there, oh, surprise, you can't listen to music in France, you have to move to the states! >_<
Maybe it's a France thing too? It says that I have 50 songs trial before I need to pay.
French reading comprehension, I still has it~! XD Sorry, I didn't think to take the capture after I changed the language ^^;;;. My 'net is mostly (read totally apart from one or two exceptions) in English and I changed Last.fm's language right after I took the capture ;p
Anyway, I found a website that says that Last.fm went from free to 3€/month in 2009. Probably a problem with authors rights or something, they have been really annoying for that in France these last years >_<
Oh yes, be my dealer! *.* I'll love you eternally ;p

11/5/11 14:22 (UTC)The one you were writing, is it a PWP or a complete story? If it's a story, maybe ignore that part and continue writing, before coming back here.
