36°C/97°F IN THE SHADE!!!!

I'm melting, meeeelting T_____________T

And they're saying that it's going to last at least one more week. It's already been days, I like the sun, but now that just too bloody much é_è

I want water! I want a swimming pool! There is one just in front of my office building and I can barely take my eyes off it during the day, I WANT WATER!! (or else I cry W_W )

(also, for the LJ users, am I the only one who keep clicking on "mark as spam" instead of "delete", in your inbox? Because it's becoming extremely annoying. Thank god there is a confirmation popup, or I'd have sent to spam a LOT of posts... -_-")

So, this morning I got up, not too early because I always have trouble waking up on Mondays, showered, got dressed, and booted up my computer.

My mom choose that moment to remind me via SMS/text message that it's August 15th and so, it's my step-father's birthday. (she has to message me for every birthday, because I even forget mine, so... ^^;;;)

I then proceeded to lose about an hour checking my mails and f-list, hour that I could have used at work, as I'm a bit behind in my monthly work hours. But, well, somebody did a fic search on [community profile] snarryficfind that sounded good and the fic was found, so I started reading it instead of leaving immediately.

It was ten to nine when I finally left my computer behind (I'm allowed to arrive at work anywhere between 7.30 am and 9.30 am, as long as I do my hours) and climbed up in my car. I looked at my neighbors and wondered if they were in vacation, as their shutters were close when normally they're gone by 8.00 am.

Luckily, I managed to find an apartment not too far from my office, so I only had to drive for 10 min and I congratulated myself for leaving so late: when I leave 15 min before the hour, I always get stuck in the rush hour. But 5 min before the hour was perfect this morning, there weren't too many cars on the road.

My first indication that something was a bit wrong, was when I entered the street at the end of which is my office. It's a long street with on one side, a tribunal, two schools, several apartment blocks and the large building in which I work with about 60 other people, and parking spaces all along on the other side.
As you can imagine, by 8.00 o'clock every morning, the parking is almost full. But this morning, there were barely 10 cars parked there! O.O

And that's when I began to think and by the time I had reached my office building, I wanted to bash my head on the dashboard:

THE 15TH OF AUGUST IS A PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN FRANCE!!!!
>_<

I. am. such. an. idiot ^^;;;

SPOILERS for Harry Potter 7, part 2! )

The funny thing in all this, is that I only wanted to write a couple of sentences about HP7-2.
I finally ended up writing a novel, because when thinking about the Pensieve moment I had the urge to re-watch it and I ended up re-watching the whole movie \O/ xDDD

I've spent a week trying to get this damn video and this one to play but the submit button wouldn't register my birth date. I managed to crash my browser after tweaking it to hell and back, and it annoyed me so much I almost ignored my fanfics.

I only just realized that I kept typing 16-01-1986 (the French way) instead of 01-16-1986 -_-"
Of course, it wouldn't acknowledge my birth date: there isn't a 16th month ^^;;;;

I'm such a dumbass...

Today was the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia ("IDAHO")!

As a slash fanfic writer, one could say that I promote the word against homophobia (and racism in general, really) all year long ;p Still, we still need to spread the word as far as we can and as loud as we can!

So yeah, here is a word, to remind people that all isn't as pink and fairy like than in our fanfictions. People in real life actually die because they have the nerve to want to spend the rest of their life with a person of the same sex or because they feel like they were born in the wrong body/can't stand their own body for some reason. I am lucky to feel good enough as I am and to live in a mostly free country, but it doesn't mean that I have to turn a blind eye to the rest of the world.

Every time I hear about racism or violences or famine or... Every time I hear about people being in distress and nobody doing anything, I remember this song of Solomon Burke:

None of Us Are Free

And there are people still in darkness,
and they just can't see the light.
If you don't say it's wrong then that says it right.
We got try to feel for each other, let our brother's know that we care.
Got to get the message, send it out loud and clear.

The first thing I did when I learned about the tornadoes: check that [livejournal.com profile] lucime was safe and out of the way. Thank you for telling me in which state you live, or else I would have been stressed to death >_<

And to all the people that lost the homes/family/friends/lovers/... I can't do much more than think about you and hope that Obama will be more helpful than Bush had been in 2005, but hold out hope.

So, I guess you all heard about the fact that Yahoo! sold Delicious to some guys from YouTube?

This post and this one sum it up. And this is the new guys (AVOS)'s TOS.

[livejournal.com profile] vickyblueeyez posted a comparison of AVOS and Diigo's TOS (Diigo being an alternative to Delicious, as is Pinboard). She highlighted the worrying parts about mature content being restricted/hunted which could potentially be a very dangerous issue for fanfics writers. The question being, will this TOS be really enforced or is it just a first draft/draft based on YouTube to be revised/or something.

There is also the problem that to go from Yahoo!Delicious to AVOS!Delicious, you have to validate the transfert of your account. Which means that we are potentially going to lose thousands of bookmarks as inactive users won't acknoledge this move.

Anyway, it's not really as if we could do much about it.
